This celebrity doll repaint was inspired by Tobey Maguire as he portrayed Peter Parker in the blockbuster movie trilogy "Spiderman".

I used a 16-inch Peter Parker doll here produced by Robert Tonner Doll company. I completely removed factory facial painting and hand painted it to resemble Tobey Maguire in Spiderman. The doll's hair has also been extensively restyled to resemble Tobey's in the movie.

The bottom left photo shows the doll as it looked originally before repainting. The Mary Jane/Kirsten Dunst doll next to my Peter Parker repaint is also a repainted doll.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.
