This portrait of Marilyn Monroe was pastel-painted during the Via Arte Street painting in Bakersfield, California in 2000.
This was only my second year doing street painting and was not yet quite familiar with this technique.
It was a lot of back-breaking work because you have to constantly be in one position for hours. Since the art had to be completed within only two days, there wasn't very much time to take a break. Altogether, it was still a lot of fun.
