I basically just wanted to share this photo of me in my repaint workshop, working on a repaint of Julie Andrews as Mary Poppins. I also show here the finished repaint.

Please refer to my earlier deviation to see what the original Mary Poppins doll looked like prior to repainting.


Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

this is so beautiful! The detail in the eyes is amazing!! It looks so much more like her than the original.

Question. How do you make the coloring, like in the cheeks, so smooth without an airbrush?
