These Tonner doll sculpts are not the easiest in terms of bringing out the essence of the characters/actors portrayed. But as an artist, I believe in challenging oneself in order to grow.

The dolls used are 15 1/2 inch and 17 1/2 inch Bella and Edward dolls by Robert Tonner. Full facial repaint and shading as well as extensive hair style make over to replicate the features of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, particularly as they appeared in the Twilight sequel, New Moon. This is by far my most ambitious undertaking of an Edward repaint because of all the shading that needed to be done on his torso to approximate his look from New Moon. The photo of the doll on the right hand was taken outdoors.

The inset photos on the upper middle show the mass produced version of the Edward Cullen and Bella Swan doll as they were originally released.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area and an even greater challenge of recreating a real person's likeness. Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

There are some rude people in this comment section. "Why isn't he sparkling, why didn't you make him sparkle, it would look so much better if he sparkled."

Really? I'd like to see some of you assholes try to make shit of this level AND make it 'sparkle'. With what materials would you use to get such an effect that it only happens in direct light without sabotaging the beautiful texture of the unlighted skin?

I'd like to see you even try to do half this much. Be grateful for what's already here instead of complaining about an already ridiculous plot device and being unbelievably rude to the hard work of someone else.

the doll has better nipples than the real thing XD but other than that, as all the work in this gallery this is superb, excellent, meticulous work, very admirable and always a joy to see, even when the subjects at hand are not my fave. Thanks so much for sharing!

You should have made edward sparkle some in the outdoor shot.. It would have looked more realistic like in the movie.
