2/1/07 Artist's Note: I just want to say thanks to you guys for all your inspiring comments and kind words. It's a real honor to get a DD for my Miranda repaint. My appreciation to you all!

I used a 16-inch Robert Tonner doll here. I completely removed factory facial painting and hand painted it to resemble Miranda Priestly, Merly Streep's character in The Devil Wears Prada. Also, the doll's hair started out very long and thick so I had to cut,perm and restyle it. This repaint was inspired by Streep's engaging performance as the dragon lady of the fashion world for which she won a Golden Globe award.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

Your repaints are always very well done, but I have to say that Meryl Streep has a very unique face and it really is a credit to your talent how well you've captured her here.
