J.K. Rowling's epic fantasy and huge box office hit Harry Potter has captivated me since its film debut. It literally cast a spell on my inspiration, so it only made perfect sense to capture that magic in doll art form.

The doll used is a 17 inch doll by Robert Tonner. Facial repaint and careful contouring and shading were all necessary to capture British celebrity Daniel Radcliffe's likeness. Hair also underwent careful hair styling to recreate his look particularly in the Goblet of Fire

The inset photo on the bottom show the mass produced version of the doll as it was originally released.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area and an even greater challenge of recreating a real person's likeness. Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

Harry's may be but unfortunately Daniel Radcliffe's are bright blue and I'm assuming the doll was based off of him so I guess it makes sense to stay true to the actor.

Daniel Radcliffe would've worn green contacts, but they messed with his eyes during takes in the first movie, so I've read. But that at least he can act dam good!
