This latest doll repaint is not based on any particular celebrity or famous personality - rather, it is based upon my own original concept/idea. Every now and then, I like to create repaints that are just from out of my imagination. The original doll used is a 16-inch Sybarite, which is a ball jointed resin doll produced by Superdoll.
I wanted to create a repaint that evokes feistiness, as well as a sense of daring and utterly provocative personality that has tons of attitude, edge and drama.
I started out by completely removing factory facial painting. Next, I carefully removed her original attached wig. The inset photo on the lower right hand side shows how the doll originally looked. Next, I gave the doll a complete facial repaint. Also, I handpainted a tattoo of a swallow bird on her back. To complete the doll's look, I had her model two different wigs. The black wig was something that I custom hand styled for a look that's in keeping with her sensuous personality.
Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area . Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.
