Halloween is just around the corner and I thought what better way to kick it off with a custom repaint of the gruesomely seductive queen of macabre, Elvira - Mistress of the Dark.
This doll underwent hair restyling to better replicate Elvira's. As with all my custom repainted dolls, I remove the original factory makeup. I then repaint the character's features paying attention to precision and accuracy as well as true to life facial expression.
Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area and an even greater challenge of recreating a real person's likeness. Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

Holy!!! What was the original doll?? Was that an Elvira doll too?? That's shameful... although, it probably looked a lot better without your masterpiece beside it!! Very awesome.. I thought (in the thumb.) that that left side was a photo ref.
I have been an Elvira fan for decades. I can't believe what you have done. So fantastic I can't put words to it. Absolutely love what your make-over has done. It looks so real....
