This celebrity doll repaint was inspired by the lovely Anne Hathaway.

I used a 16-inch "Get Smart" Agent 99 doll here produced by Robert Tonner Doll company.

So, the first order of business was to completely remove factory facial painting. I then hand painted it to bring the likeness of Ms. Hathaway to life. The doll's look is very versatile so it could reflect Anne as Agent 99 or just as herself.

Next, I transformed her hair style by giving her a heat perm. Careful hand styling makes the doll's hair more realistic and to scale.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area and an even greater challenge of recreating a real person's likeness. Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

-- acrylic paint and ultra fine brushes

Amazing job again!! :+fav:
As the original doll, she actually reminds me of Emmy Rossum, the girl that played Cristine Daae in the Phantom of the Opera movie. Maybe she could be your next makeover??

I do actually see a semblance in the original doll paint to Ms. Hathaway, but then I look at your repaint and am totally blown away. Every time. Honestly, it's like looking at a photograph - you astound me :faint:

:O I saw the little thumbnail and I recognized her without seeing the name. It's truly amazing. You captured her perfectly. It just looks so serene.
