This celebrity doll repaint was inspired by the lovely Anne Hathaway in her role as Agent 99 in the film "Get Smart", particularly as she looked during the ballroom scene.
I used a 16-inch "Get Smart" Agent 99 doll here produced by Robert Tonner Doll company.
So, the first order of business was to completely remove factory facial painting. I then hand painted it to bring the likeness of Ms. Hathaway to life, paying careful attention to her makeup from the specific scene.
Next, I reworked her hair by trimming and thinning it down to scale.
Bottom inset photo shows the doll as it was originally produced.
Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area and an even greater challenge of recreating a real person's likeness. Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.

Wow, I'm a fan of Anne Hathaway I hope you'll make (or rather re-paint) Fantine from Les Miserables someday. I really love your dolls! You're the best doll re-painter ever!
