Angelina Jolie has currently received quite a bit of attention in the media for her directorial debut of the film "In the Land of Blood and Honey". In light of that, I felt inspired to replicate her yet again in doll form, but for the first time I am creating the custom doll in 11 1/2 inch scale.

I thought I'd share a general idea of the transformation process in the creation of this Angelina Jolie repaint.

Repaint is a new form of pop art, wherein the doll's face is treated like a three dimensional canvas, with the added challenge of painting within a very small area and an even greater challenge of recreating a real person's likeness. Since dolls are basically miniature pieces, brush strokes and shading have to be very controlled and precise.
